LDS General Conference Talk Booklet

LDS General Conference Talk Booklet
This was my final project for my typography class. The goal was to create a booklet that contained an LDS General Conference talk as a gift for someone. The final result was an attempt at demonstrating my mastery of typography as whole including layout, grids, colors, hierarchy, and visually interesting compositions. I wanted something beautiful, readable, and easy to look at. It is simple, but I wanted something so intuitive that you barely notice the things I was trying hard to figure out. I didn't want anyone to see it and think it was too much or even really notice it. I wanted it to be inviting without being complicated.
Here is my front cover, my back cover, and the typographic page in the middle of my book to highlight a quote from the talk.
This is my inside front cover and first page. On the inside front cover I did a biography of the speaker, and on the first page I wanted to have the title and author listed just as I did on the front. This is also where I started putting the subtitles as listed in the talk.
This is my second and third page spread.
This is my fourth and fifth page spread. The fifth page I decided would be a typographic focus on a quote from page four that I really liked. I thought the simple but emphasized quote would make for a beautiful middle spread.
This is the spread for my sixth and seventh pages.
Here is my final spread, the last page and the inside cover. The inside back cover has the endnotes on it, which I thought was a good use of space and a seamless way to finish the booklet.
